The 4D InSpec XL offers an expanded field of view and a larger scanning area compared to the 4D InSpec. It allows you to measure features up to 0.6" x 0.6" wide while maintaining micrometer resolution, portability, affordability, and ease of use. With it, you get measurements and reports in less than a second. The 4D InSpec XL brings high-resolution metrology directly to the shop floor, machine shops, production lines, and field operations, eliminating the need to wait for reports from specialized laboratories.
The 4D InSpec XL quantifies defects such as holes, scratches, cuts, dents, and protrusions, as well as measures features such as edge breakage, radii, rivet depth, and hammered depth, with accuracy from 0.0002" (5 microns) to 0.35" (9 mm) depth/height. It is significantly more repeatable and accurate than the visual comparison techniques commonly used for surface defect measurements. Unlike state-of-the-art metrology systems, it is robust, flexible, and affordable, capable of measuring a wide range of part geometries, even in the most challenging environments. Using high-speed dynamic measurement techniques, the instrument is vibration-resistant and motion-tolerant, allowing it to be operated manually or mounted on a robotic arm in noisy and vibrant production environments.
The integrated software, with an intuitive interface and touchscreen, automatically identifies defects and calculates their height, volume, area, slope, and position. Operators can choose from detailed 2D or 3D views to analyze defects in detail. Furthermore, it is possible to calculate the radius of curvature of grooves, rods, and spheres. The device also facilitates data transfer to quality control systems via LAN, USB, or Wi-Fi, enabling rapid analysis for approval or rejection.
