The Magnetic Flux Indicator, also known as the CASTROL Standard or "Flexible Laminated Strips," is designed to verify the efficiency, intensity, and direction of the applied magnetic field. Another application for this standard is to verify the efficiency of the magnetic particle bath used. Flexible indicators are used to detect the appropriate levels of orientation, direction, and intensity of the magnetic field during the magnetic particle testing process. The indicators are manufactured with permeable magnetic steel sandwiched between two brass plates and designed for repeated use in determining and monitoring the magnetic field intensity in magnetic particle applications.
The CASTROL standard serves as a guide, verifying the magnetic field strength where they are positioned.
The internal longitudinal markings of the standard can be clearly visualized when a perpendicular magnetic field and a bath of magnetic particles are applied.
