14A is a highly sensitive fluorescent magnetic particle powder designed for locating very fine discontinuities in critical applications. It can be mixed with oil or water for wet fluorescent particle bath inspection systems.
The prepared 14A bath is sprayed onto a part during magnetization. It is used to detect cracks and folds, as well as inclusions, wrinkles, tears, and chips. Defects detected by this process may be open to the part surface or just below the surface. The parts examined may include forgings, welds, castings, and stampings, or ferromagnetic materials such as steel or other iron, nickel, and cobalt alloys.
14A water and oil baths are typically used in horizontal stationary machine units with integral magnetic field generators. 14A particles meet all major industry specification requirements and non-destructive testing standards, including aerospace standards, ASTM and ISO 9934.
Increase indication detection
Locate smaller, finer indications in critical applications using highly sensitive/ferromagnetic 14A particles
Minimize inspection time
Clear, bright indications form quickly under minimal background fluorescence due to highly fluorescent and highly mobile 14A particles
Improve inspection consistency and reliability
Maintain magnetic particle system performance over long periods thanks to highly durable and easily dispersible 14A particles
